Everything changes, nothing stands still. Especially when it comes to music. The second release from the newly founded Hushlamb Label Project is Heraclitus, a various artists compilation that explores the art of the remix. Sounds from Hushlamb’s favourite international producers meet their match in remixes from the collective’s residents — an album of transformations.

Tom Ellis starts things off sultry and jazz-infused with “The Tale of Mrs. Peacock,” broken down with a glitchy remix from Stefny. Pachyderme’s “Sueno Que Te Veo Superpuesta Indefinidamente A Ti Misma” slows down with a contemplative atmospheric reworking from Zeina; Cleymoore’s “Lambs” amps up with a lively edit by Mark Thibideau. SlowPitch’s “Sacred Grounded” and its haunting vocals from Pursuit Grooves mutate into a dizzying, hypnotic piece under Billy Dalessandro’s touch. Alka Rex pairs up with Ana+one on the carnivalesque “Brau Luff” and its Ausgang Links remix, while label boss Alicia Hush takes on the bizarre basslines of Sil’s “Dead Brownie.” Nothing stands still, indeed.
